Park, Play, & Pickleball
Life is too short not to make time to play.
Amazing view from so many perspectives.
Rivers connect at Ovation - The Ohio River and The Licking River.
people playing the world's fastest growing sport!
A rich history and robust future
The Ovation riverfront is home to a historic park dedicated in the 1890s. The park replaced the Newport Barracks, an Army outpost no longer needed as the frontier moved west. For many years the park lay hidden behind the flood wall. Ovation changes that with its boardwalk creating a gentle transition from city to green space. Ovation transforms this hidden gem into the most usable riverfront in the region.
Pick your activity, your club, and make new friends.
The vision includes:
- Rolling lawns
- Bike paths
- Outdoor exercise circuits
- Scenic viewing platforms
- Pickleball courts
- Dog friendly areas
- Usable and reservable event and picnic areas
There is one downside.
Here, you can lose your ball in the rivers. The Ohio and the Licking are that close. So we suggest working on your game, bringing a really fast partner to play with, or making friends with someone who rows crew out of the nearby boat house.
